Learning them by hand is one of the effective ways to learn the characters accurately and you can start by learning the basic elements called radicals and learning the stroke order as well. You may need to have a good teacher in this part of learning to help you learn fast. You can also find a lot of learning tools to help you learn fast and easy. You can find workbooks for children where you can also learn to write from the very basics just like learning how to write your ABCs the first time.
